Just a few weeks ago, there were major concerns that Arsenal’s campaign was going to go awry.
The Gunners lost the Carabao Cup final, were eliminated by Southampton in the FA Cup and suffered incredible losses to Manchester City and Bournemouth in the Premier League.
As a result, manager Mikel Arteta’s men must be applauded for their response, even if rival fans may not be able to take credit for their achievements.
There has been a huge shift in momentum over the past 10 days, not only because City dropped points to Everton, but also because Arsenal dispatched Fulham 3-0 to reach their first Champions League final in 20 years, beating West Ham 1-0 on Sunday.
how did they do it? Well, Arteta has managed to restore form from several players who were struggling in the 2025/26 season. It has been huge in Arsenal’s recent evolution.
Arsenal’s underachieving players finally come to the party
What a 10 days it has been for the Gunners. If they can win the Premier League title as expected, it would have been a great match that truly symbolized the season.
A major part of the team’s recent resurgence has been improved fortunes up front. Bukayo Saka has returned from injury and is back in good health. Prior to the match against Fulham, the winger was struggling with form and fitness, in particular scoring just two goals between the beginning of December and the end of April.
However, he has now regained his form and scored a goal and an assist against Fulham. that Famous goal in the Champions League semi-final second leg against Atlético Madrid.
Combined with Victor Gokeres, Arsenal look much better in attack. He enjoyed perhaps the best week of his north London career to date. Although he didn’t score against Atleti, he ran the Spanish team into disarray all night. He also scored twice in the win against Fulham.
But perhaps the most welcome development is the return of wonderkid Miles Lewis Skelly. Reports earlier this year suggested there was a good chance he would leave Emirates, but that idea has now been firmly dispelled. In the last three matches, he provided a timely reminder of his qualities.
Starting alongside Declan Rice in midfield, he was a game-changer, giving the team some much-needed energy from the center of the park.
Let’s not forget that this is a player who only started in one league in 2026, until the start of the match against Marco Silva’s team. Maybe it’s still too late to participate in the World Cup.
That said, the most surprising and joyous comeback came a little further than Lewis Skelly.
Arsenal’s new boss Zinchenko silences doubters
In Jokeres, Arsenal have finally found a player who looks ready to conquer the Premier League. It’s been a great week for the great Swede, who has silenced the doubters. It’s safe to say he’s had many of them since arriving in the British capital.
Another player who has received a lot of criticism this season is Leandro Trossard.
The Belgian has started the campaign in a truly impressive way, answering questions about why he was given a pay rise last summer. In fact, the left winger scored eight goals and scored six in the first 22 games of the 2025/26 season.
But since then, it has been a difficult season for Trossard. The 31-year-old forward appeared to have reached the end of his time at Arsenal. Once a very important part of Arteta’s project, he was placed in the same category as Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko. Like Trossard, they were a group of older players who had played big roles in previous title challenges but ultimately served their purpose.

Like Zinchenko, he seemed to be crying and trying to leave. He was removed from the team and his condition deteriorated.
But the Belgian international fought off doubters in the same way as Gokeres. Suddenly he looked like an important player again, with Arsenal potentially winning two titles.
It all started with the win against Fulham, where Trossard was absolutely mesmerizing on the left. Not only did he assist Gokeres’ second goal, he also completed six dribbles in the match. This was the winger’s best Premier League career.
He played even better against West Ham last weekend. Although the victory was not particularly impressive, the diminutive forward’s performance was worthy of Man of the Match honors.
It was Trossard who scored the vital goal that took Arsenal two games closer to winning the title. What makes this mini-run form even more impressive is the accomplishments so far. Before scoring at the London Stadium, the £27m signing from Brighton had not scored a single goal in 2026. In fact, his life was so barren that he could not beat the goalkeeper in 25 games.
Well, like his colleagues in the right attack, Trossard is back and has become a force to be reckoned with. There is no chance that Arteta will select Gabriel Martinelli ahead of him for the remainder of the season.
Considering numbers like Zinchenko and Jesus, it’s quite a career resurgence.
