This Arsenal team could make history by the end of the season, with Premier League and Champions League glory just a few games away.
It has been a long and at times tiring journey for Mikel Arteta’s side, but this Arsenal side has been persistent and is now within striking distance of not one, but both of the biggest possible prizes.

Is this the peak? No, actually. There is no doubt that they have struggled at times, but their forwards in particular have left something to be desired all season.
Now, Arteta and Emirates Technical Director Andrea Berta are ready to take this impressive outfit to the next level.
Arsenal hope to sign forward £87m early
Love him or hate him, there is no doubt that Victor Gokeres has developed into a key frontman for Arsenal this season. The Swede, who has scored 21 goals in 52 appearances, is a powerful, if not uncanny, force.
Still, he has been let down by some strugglers, including Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, who have struggled to hit the high notes in Arsenal’s attacking line.
Arteta needs something different, a bit of flair, a forward who can influence Arsenal’s success in front of goal.
Now, according to Football Transfers, Arsenal are in talks with Julian Alvarez’s agent amid reports that the versatile striker is looking to leave Atletico Madrid this summer.
Interestingly, Arteta has secret plans to use Alvarez in a slightly unconventional way, moving him away from the centre-forward position he created for himself in Spain and using him more dynamically. Perhaps he could become the Gunners’ new Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
They will be keen to conclude a deal as soon as possible, with an early summer deal being discussed, especially since Paris Saint-Germain are also sniffing around. The transfer fee is expected to exceed €100m (£87m).
Why Alvarez could be Arsenal’s new Aubameyang
Alvarez, 26, has developed into a talisman for Atletico Madrid, scoring 49 goals and providing 17 assists in 106 games for the Spaniard.
To be fair, they would have expected a huge success having spent £81m to sign him from Manchester City in 2024.
Could he become the new Aubameyang? According to journalist Roy Nemer, the Argentina international developed into “the best forward in the world at the moment” last season, and there are several indicators that point to his potential.
Additionally, reports from Football Transfers suggest that Alvarez will be signed with a view to using him on the left wing.
This is a position the right-footer is accustomed to, and one of the many areas he filled under Josep Guardiola’s wing at Manchester City before moving to Atletico and making the centre-forward position his own.
It will not be easy for Aubameyang to reach the same standards he did when he was in Arsenal’s pomp. The Gabonese striker scored 92 goals in just 163 games for London, winning the FA Cup and tearing opponents to shreds with his blistering speed and tricks with the ball.
He often played on the wing, corresponding to Alexandre Lacazette. Perhaps in this way we’ll see Alvarez combined with Goqueres’ more physical style.
Álvarez has won Premier League titles before and has now developed into one of the world’s best players in the Spanish capital.
He is a natural goalscorer with a dynamic and expansive playing style. He fits the bill perfectly and could emulate Aubameyang to make an instant impact and lead the Gunners to further silverware.
He would transform Arsenal like Rice: Gunners prepare for £80m move
Arsenal could spend big this summer on signing a new midfielder and potentially the next Declan Rice.
