Trent is one of a kind. It’s a real shame that he no longer plays for his boyhood club, and it’s true that he hasn’t had the most auspicious debut season in Spain with Real Madrid, but he’s still a special player with elite, game-changing qualities.
Although Hall is not from the same background, the Newcastle left-back is currently sitting at home with Alexander-Arnold watching England games. Many are baffled by this disrespect, as Hall has shown in this season’s Champions League against the likes of Barcelona that he can put in spectacular performances in the knockout stages.
Hall was hailed by teammate Kieran Trippier as having “all the qualities to be one of the best left-backs in the world”, but Newcastle have struggled this season and Hall is currently left out of the squad, which many would say is unfair.
However, the 21-year-old is still enjoying his first season in the Premier League, winning 5.4 duels and completing 1.2 dribbles per game. He is an all-action defender, dynamic and enterprising when on the ball.
He may not have the natural creative talent of Alexander-Arnold, but who does? Instead, Hall has developed into a Premier League star under Liverpool manager Slott and could make a big difference at Anfield, although he may not see eye-to-eye with England’s head coach.
While left-back may not be a priority position for Liverpool heading into the summer transfer window, Hall represents a unique market opportunity and FSG will not want to lose a top target to Premier League rivals like Man United.
