Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that both Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola.

The 23-year-old has long looked like an exciting talent, with Romano admitting Liverpool have had a long-term interest in the player.

Barcola is not currently in PSG’s regular starting lineup, so it stands to reason that he could leave the club this summer.

Romano described Barcola as a “serious option” for Liverpool in his latest YouTube post, while Arsenal also like the player and are considering adding him in that position.

Fabrizio Romano talks about Bradley Barcola’s transfer situation

“It’s important that we don’t forget another name in our winger domino this summer transfer window, and that’s the name of Bradley Barcola, because Liverpool rate Barcola really highly,” Romano said.

“At the moment Barcola has not yet signed a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain, so all I can say is… Barcola could once again be an important option for Liverpool.”

“So this could be a domino for Barcola. There is also real interest from Arsenal. Arsenal also like Barcola. Arsenal are also looking to add an important player in attack. We have to see if he becomes a winger or more of a striker.”

“So Arsenal have to decide internally what they want to do. But Barcola is definitely an option for Liverpool. He’s a player that Liverpool have been valuing very highly for a year now.”

What Bradley Barcola brings to Liverpool and Arsenal

Barcola’s skill, speed and goal-threat from the left could make him a huge upgrade for the likes of Liverpool’s Codi Gakpo and Arsenal’s volatile duo of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

The Frenchman may not be a regular for PSG, but he still has 14 goals and eight assists in all competitions this season, and it’s easy to imagine how much more he could contribute if he gets more minutes.

Of course, it remains to be seen how well Barcola will adapt to English football, which has been a problem for some of the recent newcomers to Anfield and the Emirates Stadium.

Florian Wirtz and Victor Gokeres were just two big signings for the club last summer, and they haven’t performed as well in the Premier League as they did in Germany and Portugal respectively.

Barcola appears to have the makings of being a top player, but for a player who already has Premier League experience, it may be worth looking closer to home.
