Wu becomes the third player to shoot a round of 64 at the NCAA Championships. This is the lowest round of any Omni La Costa women’s player in the past three years. LSU’s Megan McChrystal became the first player in NCAA Championship history to score 64 points in the final round at Landfall Country Club in North Carolina in 2010. Thirteen years later, USC’s Katherine Park did it in the second round at Greyhawk, Arizona.

Wu’s round started with a birdie on the par-4 first hole. She finished with a 3-under 33, but birdied the 10th, 11th, 13th, 16th, and 17th holes to reach a career-record tying 64. It was the second lowest round in Florida history.
Her best round so far this year was a 65 at the Gators’ home tournament. Ranked 32nd in the NCAA Golf Rankings, her round was 12 strokes better than Friday’s opener, when she came home with a 40.
Wu’s round helped keep Florida alive in the second round. No other Gator shot below par on Saturday, and they sat at T-13 midway through the Saturday afternoon wave.
