West Ham United midfielder Matheus Fernandes was signed from Southampton last summer for a fee of €44 million.
However, the club’s disappointing season and the possibility of a major rebuild have made his departure much more likely.
West Ham are valuing the player at between 50 and 60 million euros, but this figure is expected to fall following relegation. Fernandes’ contract runs until 2030, and there is no termination clause. Although this strengthens West Ham’s negotiating position, financial pressures appear to increase the likelihood of a sale this summer.
