Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool attacker Rio Ngumoja in the summer transfer window.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the German champions have been in talks with the 17-year-old Liverpool attacker for several weeks and a verbal agreement was reached between the player and his camp late last month.

However, this deal has now collapsed and it remains to be seen whether the move can be revived in the coming weeks. Liverpool have no intention of selling the player and he will play a key role in their future.

Ngmoha impressed in his first-team appearances last season and is an elite talent. The attacker played just over 1,000 minutes for Liverpool’s first team last season, scoring three goals in the process.

Apparently, Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany helped negotiate the move privately with the Liverpool attacker and approved the move. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop.

David Ornstein of The Athletic insists that Liverpool have no intention of letting the player leave the club and are looking to strengthen their attacking team rather than selling key players in the summer transfer window.

There is no doubt that Ngmoha is a promising world-class talent and it is no wonder that top clubs are keen on him. But Liverpool cannot afford to lose an elite prospect like him. He has all the tools to develop into a Premier League star. Liverpool need to keep him at the club and build the team around him.

He proved his quality in the Premier League with a cameo appearance last season, but it remains to be seen whether he will be given a more prominent role in the team next season.
