Rangers could sign one of Danny Rolle’s star players this summer amid growing interest from European clubs.

Rangers named to pay for star man

So far this summer, much of Scotland’s headlines have been stolen by Laurence Shankland. He traded the Hearts captaincy for the chance to play for his boyhood club Rangers as Gers set their sights on ending their wait for another league title next season.

Speaking about his move, the Scotland forward told reporters: “I am really happy and excited to be joining a club that I have always dreamed of playing for as a boy and to have the opportunity to do so, especially at such a late stage in my career.

“It can give you a little bit of a boost and hopefully that helps in these games.”

Approach: Rangers in contract talks with Premier League midfielder

They could sign a second deal this summer.

The Ibrox chief didn’t stop there either. Josh Windass, Dan Neil and Luke Graham are all on the radar of the squad in what could be the start of Danny Rolle’s overhaul of the squad.

However, that review may come at a certain cost. Rangers are willing to sell Youssef Cermiti this summer for around £25m, and the 49ers are ready to give the green light to Galatasaray’s move if they match the asking price, according to Turkish journalist Sergen Dag.

The Turkish giants are looking for a new striker and the Rangers man is currently on the shortlist. Following Shankland’s arrival, it is easy to see why Ibrox officials wanted to reveal the price just 12 months after Chelmity arrived for around £8m.

£25m Chelmity could be Rangers’ record sale

Although his first season at the club was not always consistent, Cermiti proved himself to be the right fit when it mattered. Seven of his 15 goals in the Scottish Premiership came against title rivals Celtic and Hearts, but that may not be enough for Rangers to reject a £25m offer for him.

If Galatasaray accept the asking price, Celmiti will become the club’s highest-paid transfer in its history. It would give him immediate financial freedom, with the Gell family already finding their replacement in Shankland.

The big question is whether Mr. Roll will say anything about it. He beamed as he praised the forward in his first season at the club as “outstanding”. But even he may not be able to deny the impact that £25m will have on the current Rangers side.
