The most exciting Monday on the golf calendar is “The Longest Day of Golf,” as hundreds of players tee up at the final qualifying venue to earn a ticket to the U.S. Open.

There’s nothing like qualifying for the US Open. There, current top pros, big names from yesteryear, up-and-coming amateur stars, and everyday people compete against each other for one of the coveted spots at the U.S. National Championship. This year, after more than 10,000 people registered, 62 players qualified and took to the field at Sinek Hills Golf Club, joining the 85 players who entered on exemptions to compete in this year’s championship.

The big topic on Monday was that many young top amateur players, led by world No. 1 junior Myles Russell, participated in the 126th U.S. Open, sparking a youth movement across the United States.

With partner and 2027 Florida State commit Charlie Woods on his bag, Russell rode a roller coaster at Barren Isles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, finishing 6 under through 36 holes and making the playoffs despite a triple and double bogey. He birdied the second hole of the playoff to beat Tyler Collett and earn a spot alongside the world’s best on Long Island next week.

Russell wasn’t the only high school player to qualify for the U.S. Open. AJGA No. 2 player Giuseppe Puebla also qualified in the Barren Isles qualifier, and New York native Jackson Ormond qualified in the Gaston Country Club qualifier in North Carolina. Both Puebla and Ormond are committed to playing college golf in Florida, where they will be rivals for Russell and Woods.

At the other end of the spectrum, there were veteran tour pros who used qualifying to earn another spot at the U.S. Open. Names like JB Holmes, Billy Horschel, Keith Mitchell and Graeme McDowell earned spots in the final qualifiers and a chance at another major start.

Below you can see the full list of players for the 2026 U.S. Open. It starts with the players who earned a spot in the qualifiers, followed by those who competed on exemptions. There are still spots available for the RBC Canadian Open, with the top 60 players in the world rankings as of June 15th (next Monday) eligible to play in the current 146-man spot.
