Liverpool are reportedly optimistic about signing RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande alongside Victor Muñoz during this summer’s World Cup.
According to BBC Sport, the Reds have hijacked the transfer of Newcastle United’s Osasuna to Spain star Muñoz, who could face a medical emergency in the United States.

In addition, Ben Jacobs appears to be aware that Liverpool remain keen on signing Diomande, who will represent Ivory Coast at this summer’s World Cup.

“Please understand that Liverpool are still working on signing Yann Diomande in addition to Víctor Muñoz and are optimistic about it. There is also competition from PSG and suitors are not ignoring the fact that his contract will be finalized during the World Cup,” Jacobs wrote on X.
Liverpool want big investment in attack – and they need it
Liverpool have just lost legendary Mohamed Salah and injured Hugo Ekitike will also be sidelined for the rest of the year.
It would be no surprise to see the Merseyside giants make a big move to sign new attacking players this summer, as the likes of Kodi Gakpo and last summer signings Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz look so lacking in impact.
If they can bring in both Diomande and Muñoz, it would definitely be a big boost for new manager Andoni Iraola.
Diomand, in particular, appears to be on the verge of becoming a world-class talent, even though he is still young and inexperienced.

Munoz also looks like someone who could have a great career, even if he probably doesn’t look like he’ll fit into the same bracket as a player like Diomand just yet.
However, Liverpool fans will be happy to see such transfer rumors ramp up, as this type of investment is certainly necessary.
