Liverpool are wasting no time in completing their second big signing of the summer after Newcastle United hijacked their move to sign Victor Munoz.
As the whole of England watched Thomas Tuchel’s side beat Croatia, Liverpool were busy stealing headlines of their own. Once again, the result went against Newcastle United.

There is a possibility that the Reds will pounce…
Twelve months after the Reds made matters worse by snatching Hugo Ekitike and then spending big to sign Alexander Isak, the Anfield bosses have once again managed to move one point ahead of the Magpies.
Spectators at St James’ Park will be disgusted by the sight of Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes, who triggered Muñoz’s release clause in his Osasuna contract at the behest of new manager Andoni Iraola.
The young Spaniard is direct, quick and tenacious both on and off the ball. His production still needs work, but he will be a great fit for Iraola and add depth to his new side.
Munoz’s arrival could be a sign of things to come on Merseyside, with Anfield bosses already working on their second signing of the summer after Osasuna.
Liverpool are already ‘working on’ second major deal
Edwards and Hughes may have carried out the Munoz hijack out of nowhere, but another target is an open secret.
Ben Jacobs says Liverpool are currently “working” on signing Yann Diomande from RB Leipzig and could potentially sign the Ivorian winger during the World Cup.
The pursuit of Munoz, who is scheduled to undergo a medical check in the United States, will not stop during the tournament, and Diomande may follow suit. The impressive teenager has also attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain, underscoring how highly regarded he is across Europe.
It won’t be a cheap deal either. According to previous reports, Leipzig are seeking around £86m to sell Diomande this summer. But based on last year’s spending, that shouldn’t be a problem for Liverpool.
“He’s a left winger with outstanding speed, can dribble, is athletic, can finish. He also never lets the ball go and works for the team.” – Leipzig Managing Director Marcel Schaefer
If Muñoz is the starter at Anfield this summer, Diomande will be the real man. After last disappointing season, Liverpool are running like a team with a lot to recover from.
