Liverpool’s summer business is just getting started, with the club reportedly targeting several more signings after activating a €40 million release clause for Osasuna winger Victor Muñoz.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool are currently in the process of adding a central midfielder, centre-back and right-back as part of a wider rebuild under new head coach Andoni Iraola.

This shows that Muñoz’s deal is not being treated as a one-off move, but as the first step in a more aggressive transfer plan.

Liverpool moved quickly to sign the 22-year-old Spain international, with the Reds signing him to a six-year contract with a release clause of 40 million euros, Reuters reports.

The Guardian also reported that Liverpool had won a deal from Newcastle, making Iraola his first signing since taking over as manager.

Liverpool’s midfield and defense are in the spotlight.

The next stage could be even more important. Liverpool need extra control in midfield, especially if Iraola wants a team that can press aggressively while managing the game on the ball.

Center back is also an area to watch. Ibrahima Konate’s move to Real Madrid leaves a big hole and Liverpool cannot rely solely on the experience of Virgil van Dijk.

They need another defender with speed, strength and composure in possession.

Right-back is also on the agenda, which is understandable given the recent uncertainty surrounding the position.

Liverpool need depth, but they also need players who can cope with the physical demands of Iraola’s system.

Reconstruction with clear patterns

What stands out is the profile that Liverpool appear to be targeting. Muñoz brings speed, versatility and intensity, exactly the qualities Iraola values.

If the club added a midfielder, centre-back and right-back with similar athleticism, it could quickly become a completely different Liverpool team.

The message is clear. Liverpool aren’t just adding talent; They are rebuilding their squad around speed, aggression and tactical flexibility.

Munoz’s contract may make the headlines today, but the real rebuild is still to come.
