Arsenal are thought to have reduced their offer for Gabriel Jesus to around £20m-25m.

The Gunners had originally wanted close to £30m for the Brazilian forward, but are now open to a slightly lower offer for Jesus, according to people I spoke to today on condition of anonymity to protect relationships.

Although Jesus himself has not pressed for a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer, Arsenal are likely to make changes to their attack and are prepared to exempt the injury-prone 29-year-old from the club’s wages.

Everton have had a long-standing interest in Jesus but are yet to make an offer, while his former club Palmeiras have also expressed interest.

However, concerns over Jesus’ asking price and wage demands have kept the deal from moving forward so far.

Arsenal looking to attract suitors for Gabriel Jesus

A source said: “The understanding is that Arsenal want to sell Gabriel Jesus this summer and that means the asking price will be more realistic.”

“What we’re being told at the moment is that the club won’t be paying him a lot of money. There are understandable concerns about his fitness record.”

As we previously reported, this is likely to be one of many sales Arsenal make this summer.

The Premier League champions are also open to releasing the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Christian Norgaard, as well as loan talent such as Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson.

Despite all the talk about Ethan Nwaneri, I’m still getting pretty mixed messages from the sources I speak to. I will continue to investigate and report if I find anything concrete.

As reported earlier today, I understand that Víctor Goqueres is unlikely to leave Arsenal this summer, but as things stand, signing Julian Alvarez is also likely to be difficult for the Gunners.
