Tottenham Hotspur are rumored to be interested in signing Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.

The 28-year-old French attacker has been linked with a move from the London club in recent months. Crystal Palace managed to retain him over the summer, but he could end up leaving the club in the near future.

The player’s contract with the Eagles runs until the summer of 2027 and Palace could be under pressure to sell him at the end of this season if he does not renew his contract.

However, they are under no pressure to sell him in January. It’s very unlikely that they would sell one of their best players in the middle of the season and jeopardize their chances of doing well.

Pete O’Rourke claimed in Football Insider: “He contributed to Palace’s success over the last 18 months, scoring 17 goals and making 46 appearances last season, and he has carried that great form into this season.

“Spurs have had a lot of strikers in recent weeks and months and that seems to be an area of ​​the squad they want to strengthen.”

“Mateta could be a good fit for them and everything, but I don’t see a deal happening in January.”

Mateta is a reliable striker who has shown his quality regularly in the Premier League. He was able to make an immediate impact. However, Tottenham will have to wait until the summer transfer window to sign him.
