Maxi Araujo is in great form
The South American defender could be a great addition. He was a key player for the Portuguese club last season and showed his quality in the UEFA Champions League. He has the technical attributes to succeed in the Premier League and could be an important player for Manchester United next season.
The defender’s contract has an €80 million release clause and the Portuguese club will need to make reasonable demands to make the move happen. Manchester United are unlikely to pay €80m for a left-back. There is no doubt that he is a quality player and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can negotiate a reasonable contract.
