  • Camavinga joins Man City’s midfield options
  • Why the Frenchman could be a smart signing for City

Manchester City’s midfield rebuild may not be over yet, with Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga emerging as a key player to watch this summer.

According to Marca, City are in talks over a possible move for the 23-year-old France international, who could be allowed to leave the Bernabéu for around €60 million.

Real Madrid are currently restructuring their squad under manager Jose Mourinho, leaving Camavinga’s future uncertain despite his obvious talent and experience at the highest level.

The Times reports that City have already agreed a huge £116m deal to sign Elliott Anderson from Nottingham Forest.

However, it seems that the search for a new midfielder is not over.

Camavinga joins Man City’s midfield options

City’s interest in Camavinga is unsurprising from a broader perspective.

Enzo Maresca is preparing for his first season in charge and clearly wants more energy, control and tactical flexibility in his midfield.

Anderson brought power and ball-running ability to the City Premier League, but Camavinga will bring something different.

He is strong in the press, athletic, left-footed and can play as a number six, eight, or even left-back if needed. That versatility is exactly the kind of quality that City usually values.

Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali was also linked with a move to City, but now it appears he is close to a move to Tottenham.

Lille teenager Ayyoub Bouadi has also attracted City’s attention, showing the club are eyeing both an established star and a long-term prospect.

Why the Frenchman could be a smart signing for City

If the €60 million figure is accurate, Camavinga would be a very exciting signing for Man City.

In the current market, that price seems reasonable given his age, pedigree and technical profile.

The only question is whether Real Madrid are really ready to let him go.

Although Camavinga has had some difficult times, he remains one of Europe’s most talented midfielders.

This would be a wise move for City. It may be Anderson who signs the statement, but it may be Camavinga who provides Maresca’s midfield with the balance and grace it needs.

If City can pull this off, their rebuild will start to look very strong.
