Chris Gotterup’s clubs: What’s in his John Deere Classic winning bag

Chris Gotterup shot an impressive 9-under 62 to come back to win the John Deere Classic on Sunday and claim his third PGA Tour title of the season and fifth of his career.

Gottharp has won four times in the past 12 months, but the contents of his golf bag haven’t changed much. The only small change to his bag since his win earlier this season was switching from a TaylorMade Qi35 5-wood to a new Qi4D 7-wood.

But the most notable piece of gear in his bag is a Bridgestone Tour BX golf ball with MindSet. Gottharp switched to the latest version of Bridgestone’s flagship tour golf ball at the beginning of the season and immediately won two of the first four events of the year.

He is also the only player in the past seven years to win with Bridgestone golf clubs, using the company’s 220 Series MB. The 220 series irons are the first golf clubs the company has released in five years, and Gottapp added them to his bag last year before his breakthrough win at the Scottish Open.

For the putter, Gotterup continued to use a Spider Tour XL neck wrapped tightly in lead tape to record his 10th win for the TaylorMade putter family. This is the most on tour since the company also led the tour in putter wins a year ago.
