Andreas Schjelderup celebrates the goal between Norway and England (Photo by Justin Setterfield/Getty Images)
Norway took the lead against England with a stunning goal from Andreas Schjölderup, but goalkeeper Jordan Pickford probably should have saved it.
Schjerderup took a powerful shot past Pickford, but given the angle he definitely looked like he was going to cross.

Watch the video clip below, see what appears to be an attempted cross past Pickford, and think for yourself. Was he unlucky in that the shot he faced was unexpected, or could he have scored better in that situation?
Norway won’t have to worry about this as they took the lead in the 2026 World Cup quarter-finals with this goal.
But as I write this, Jude Bellingham has scored the equalizer for England!

What’s next for England vs. Norway?
Norway gave England a big scare, but Bellingham’s equalizer just before half-time will give them confidence for a come-from-behind victory.
This will not be an easy match by any means as Norway have shown they are no pushovers and England will have to be wary of that threat.
Between Schjölderup’s goal and Bellingham’s equalizing goal, Norway also had a golden chance to counterattack, but Alexander Sorloth delayed his last pass too late and narrowly missed.
They could have easily won 2-0 against Norway and are still a threat, but England have been the better side so far and will hope Bellingham’s equalizer is the start of a turnaround to reach the World Cup semi-finals.
