Manchester United to sign £17m World Cup hero in bargain move

Manchester United are currently intensifying their efforts to sign Paraguayan goalkeeper Orlando Gil.

The 26-year-old performed well at the World Cup, playing a key role in defeating Germany on penalties. His performances have attracted the attention of Premier League clubs and it remains to be seen whether a deal will be finalized.

According to a report from RTI SportsManchester United are making moves behind the scenes to sign goalkeeper San Lorenzo. They have been tracking the 26-year-old for several months and are now making the first contact to sign the player.

Adding another goalkeeper is a priority for Manchester United. Andre Onana and Altay Bayndir have no future at the club and Manchester United need a quality back-up for Senne Lamence.

The Paraguayan international has proven his quality at international level and has the ability to succeed in the Premier League. The opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world will be exciting.

His contract has a release clause of £17m, but he could be sold for around £8.5m. Manchester United certainly have the financial wherewithal to make a deal, and the asking price is very nominal. His contract with San Lorenzo runs until December 2027 and they won’t want to lose him on a free transfer next year. It would be ideal for them to cash in on a player right now.

As for Manchester United, I don’t know yet. Follow up with a formal offer now. It won’t be difficult for them to convince a goalkeeper and they have the resources to meet the asking price. It is reasonable to think that an agreement may be reached in the near future.
