Sky Sports: Liverpool in contact with Monaco to sign Magnes Akurios
According to Sky Sports News, Liverpool have officially confirmed their availability for the 24-year-old winger.
The Merseyside outfit have contacted Monaco to understand the financial situation necessary to seal the deal, opening the door to hijacking a long-rumored move to the French nation.
Akuriosh has been a top target for PSG throughout the summer. However, the Ligue 1 champions have had multiple bids rejected by Monaco, who value the academy graduate more highly.
PSG’s latest offer was thought to be around 34 million pounds (about 40 million euros), but Monaco rejected it as it was unacceptable.
Liverpool’s inquiry indicates they intend to pounce if PSG fail to reach an agreement, with manager Andoni Iraola looking to add more dynamism to his attacking line-up ahead of the start of the new Premier League campaign.
Who is Magnes Akurios? The winger that PSG and Liverpool wanted
Akuriosh, who has also been linked with Spurs, is a left-footed attacker who primarily plays on the right wing, but can also play as an attacking midfielder.
The Monaco academy product has developed into one of Ligue 1’s most exciting and creative players, thanks to his dribbling ability, precise control and chance creation.
Last season, he made 31 appearances in Ligue 1, scoring six goals and providing six assists, establishing himself as one of the division’s outstanding attackers.

Akuriosh was also named in France’s World Cup squad this summer, further cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s brightest attacking talents.
If Liverpool decide to make a formal offer following an initial investigation, they could face stiff competition from PSG in what is shaping up to be one of the most interesting transfer windows.
