Matheus Fernandes goal vs MK Dons
Fernandes, who started in a new-look midfield trio alongside Sandro Tonali and Conor Gallagher, took just three minutes to open his account for Tottenham in Wednesday night’s behind-closed-doors friendly at Hotspur Way.
Following a Matthijs Tell corner kick early on, MK Dons goalkeeper Craig McGillivray cleared the ball to the edge of the penalty area.
Fernandes, expecting the ball to fall, met it with a volley and fired a powerful blow that went from inside the post and into the back of the goal.
This incredible strike was the only goal in a 1-0 win against the League One side and sent a powerful statement to Spurs fans after their £85m arrival from West Ham.
