It was by no means a typical summer for Celtic. Compared to Old Firm rivals Rangers, the Bhoys have endured a quiet few months with just one signing in Camilo Duran.

After the club’s 4-1 friendly defeat to Sporting Club caused frustration among the fan base who shouted chants at the board, good news has finally arrived.

With Daen Maeda heading for the exit, Celtic immediately turned their attention to Bodo/Glimt star Kasper Ho, who starred in last season’s Champions League.

The forward only continued his clinical performance by scoring twice against Manchester City in Bodø/Glimt’s shock win, scoring five goals from an XG of 5.4.

Losing Maeda would be a blow, but signing Ho as an immediate replacement would undoubtedly give Martin O’Neill a significant upgrade. He proved his worth at the top level last season, scoring 15 goals and assisting a further 11 in all competitions.

Despite the frustration with Celtic’s transfer business this summer, the Dane’s arrival will certainly be worth the wait. However, whether Parkhead chiefs can afford such a deal is another matter entirely.

According to Danish Campo reporter relayed by Sport Witness, Celtic are close to signing Ho and are trying to finalize a deal for the Bodø/Glimt forward.

Previous rumors had predicted the Boyes would sign a forward, but it may not be that simple. Hope is expected to command a hefty transfer fee, with reports in Denmark revealing that Bodo/Glimt are one of Norway’s richest clubs, warning the Hoops of the funds needed to complete the move.

It’s no secret that Celtic are not in a strong financial position compared to other clubs on the market. Parkhead chiefs have been seen to hesitate far too often and there will be concerns that pursuing Hope won’t change things even as the Hoops try to decide on a final move.

Celtic push hard to sign Haisem Hassan

Celtic’s attacking stars are currently attracting attention. Along with Hoch, the Hoops are reportedly keen to sign Haisem Hassan, who broke out for Egypt at the World Cup.

The winger appears to be on the move following his relegation to Spanish side Real Oviedo and could head to Scotland. There he could play a transformative role on O’Neal’s front line.

Celtic have been slow to get up to speed on the blocks this summer, but rumors would suggest they are finally ready to get into business with an impressive name.
