Manchester United enjoyed a strong performance in last summer’s transfer window and look set to build on that success this year.
They have already secured two new central midfielders and are apparently looking to sign a third. Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Red Devils are considering the return of long-term target Carlos Baleva. He is an impressive Brighton midfielder who was thought to be very close to a move a year ago before the Seagulls’ offer proved too expensive for United.
Man Utd could bring Bareva back at a discount after a year
“From what I understand, Valeva was pushing like crazy to go to Manchester United a year ago, in August 2025,” Romano said in his latest Youtube video, as quoted by Team Talk.
“Baleba had agreed personal terms with Man United, so he had dreams of becoming a Man United player. Man United could not move on because Brighton did not want to sell the player. At the time he was a top target along with Amorim. (But) nothing happened.
“Ties have cooled since Amorim and Man United decided not to continue together in January. Now his name has come up again. Why? Because sources close to the player have contacted Man United again to hint at a possible return for Baleva.”
“On Baleva’s side, they are trying to understand whether Manchester United can come back for this young boy.”
At the very least, new bids are expected.
