Tiger Woods and his TGR Design company have signed a contract to build a new layout, the Legacy Course, at Diamante Cabo San Lucas on the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula on the west coast of Mexico. According to plans officially announced this week, the Legacy Course will be Woods’ third layout in the master-planned community, following the El Cardonal Course and the Oasis Short Course.
As announced in a media release, the Legacy Course features the most extensive inland water features of any dryland course, with five interconnected lakes, streams, waterfalls and cascades. Unlike many courses around Cabo San Lucas, the layout features thousands of trees and lush tropical landscapes, and much of the course is surrounded by man-made sand dunes, enhancing the feel of a private sanctuary.

All of this is part of the Legacy Club, a private enclave centered around property owners with just 250 family members located within Diamante Cabo San Lucas. The joining fee is $300,000 and annual dues are estimated at $60,000, giving you access to all of Diamante Golf Club’s amenities. Members enjoy access to amenities such as a modern wellness and fitness hub, as well as a private beachfront recreation area at the Beach Club.

“The Legacy Course combines tournament-level strategy with an unforgettable visual experience,” Woods said in a media release. “From the drivable par 4s and long par 5s to the deep bunkers, movement within the greens, and dramatic water features such as creeks, waterfalls and lakes, every element is designed to create a world-class golf experience that is both challenging and enjoyable. Diamante looks and plays like no other.”
Diamante spans 1,500 acres and already has two full-size courses and an Oasis short course. El Cardonal, designed by Woods, opened in 2014 and ranks No. 30 on Golfweek’s Best of Rankings list. El Cardonal is also the site of the PGA Tour’s World Wide Technology Championship.
