  • Sunderland is 90 minutes’ walk from the Premier League
  • Dortmund is confident after talking to Bellingham
        • Sunderland needs to unleash their new Jack Clark in the playoff final

Jobe Bellingham’s Sunderland Future has been a hot topic throughout the season, and now there are new updates ahead of the Championship Playoff Final.

Sunderland is 90 minutes’ walk from the Premier League

The Black Cats are preparing for one of the biggest games in recent history on Saturday afternoon as they will face Sheffield United at Wembley for a place to return to the Premier League.

This is a mammoth opportunity for both parties considered the most valuable game on the UK football calendar, and Sunderland manager Regis Le Bliss says his players have rivaled his preseason expectations.

“We’re exactly where we want to be. At our first meeting in this room, I asked them what the purpose of the season was and they said they wanted to be promoted. We’re here. We have this opportunity.”

The difference between Saturday’s victory and defeat cannot be underestimated. With their return to the Premier League, Sunderland not only knows they can sign better players this summer, but also is likely to maintain the service of current light heroes from Bellingham to Chris Rigg.

The former linked to the movement to follow in the footsteps of the brothers by participating in Borussia Dortmund, and the story development was developed ahead of the final.

Dortmund is confident after talking to Bellingham

According to building (via Sports Witness), Bellingham held a “fruitful” lecture with Borussia Dortmund on the summer move towards the European giants.

However, while several Premier League clubs have also been stated to be in the race to sign the youth, champion Liverpool has been mentioned as a potential suitor. There’s a lot to do with the final playoff results, and the Black Cat’s defeat almost certainly means he’ll leave.

If Saturday’s game isn’t big enough yet, Sunderland will know that defeating the blade will make it much more likely to keep Bellingham. This is a huge incentive. The 19-year-old is a highly influential performer throughout the season, starting 41 championship matches and being praised by Captain Dunneal, who said about him in 2023.

“He makes me look like I’m 17. He’s an absolute freak of nature. Physically, I’ve never seen that size 17. Technically, he’s also the top, top, player.”

In fact, Sunderland cannot expect Bellingham to have great ambitions if he remains in the championship next season.

However, the appeal of testing yourself in the Black Cats’ Premier League is not out of the question, so this weekend they can get the job done.
