The former Manchester United player, once called “The Next Cristiano Ronaldo,” opposed the advice of Sir Alex Ferguson in a move that may have ruined his career.

Man Utd is the person who flops after leaving

The Red Devils are well known for their academies, with many first-team stars being made in Carrington. From the 92-person class to recent alumni such as Marcus Rushford and Cobby Mineau, Man Utah regularly has one of his own on the match-day team.

Ferguson has shown how to influence the success of many young males who are performing at Old Trafford and how to make the most of them once.

“I’ve always been very proud to see young players develop. The job of a manager like a teacher is to encourage people to get better. Give them better technical skills, make them wins, make them better people, they can go anywhere in life.

“They will always remember you were the manager who gave them their first chance. Once they know they’re batting for them, they’ll embrace your path. You really develop a sense of family.

But some young people who were turned over for greatness did not hit the heights of Old Trafford.

Not all Man UTD Academy alumni are making their first team appearances and not enjoying the careers of Gary Neville, David Beckham and Ryan Giggs.

Man United has had a scary player since Iraq Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

“Next Ronaldo” Maceda faces Ferguson on MAN UTD

At Old Trafford, Maceda had great hopes, especially after plunging into the scene with a late winner against Aston Villa in the 2009 Premier League.

In fact, Maceda was called Manchester’s “next Ronaldo,” but its goal for the villa would be as good as it would have been gained by the Italians under Ferguson.

Now appearing in the Twilight years of his career, Maceda left England in 2016 and plays football in Italy, Greece, Turkey and Cyprus.

Speaking in 2017, Maceda recalled when he decided to play Ferguson by lending it to Sampdoria and moving to Sampdoria instead of staying in the Premier League.

“I had a few games and I had to play every week, Fergie wanted to lend me, and it turns out that was wise.

“But I wanted to play in Italy. Serie A. Fergie didn’t agree, so he said he should play in the UK, where he keeps his eye on me. He said he doesn’t have the same power in Italy. I insisted on Italy. It was the worst mistake of my life.

In 2025, Macedada currently plays football for Astarothropolis and Greece, playing in just 19 Premier Leagues in total for Man UTD.
