Marc Marquez Shares Impressions of the New Ducati MotoGP Bike in Aragon Test

Marc Marquez has expressed that Ducati is eager to have the new aerodynamic package homologated soon, prompting him to focus on it during the Aragon MotoGP test day. After discarding the original 2025 aero design following pre-season tests, Ducati reverted to the 2024 specifications for the season opener while continuing to develop new ideas.

During Monday’s post-Aragon Grand Prix test, Marquez evaluated the fresh aero package and clocked the third-fastest time, a 1:45.749. Although he didn’t reveal much about the new aero, Marquez responded positively overall. He explained that most of the day’s testing centered on the new aero system since the next test is at Misano and it’s too late to introduce another aero package. He noted that the lap times were similar between the new and standard packages, emphasizing the need to understand the best option as the new setup was quite different.

In related news, Marquez weighed in on the braking improvements made by his teammate Pecco Bagnaia at the Aragon Grand Prix. Bagnaia gained confidence by switching to a larger brake disc, which Ducati described as a novel approach that reduces brake pressure and improves slowing ability. Both Bagnaia and Fabio Di Giannantonio used the larger brakes during the Aragon test, but Marquez did not notice a significant difference for himself. He mentioned that while the 355mm disc offers more braking power and feedback on straights and some corners, it can be a bit heavy and isn’t used at every braking point on the circuit.

Fan Take: This update matters to racing fans because it highlights how top teams like Ducati keep pushing the boundaries of technology to gain an edge. Understanding the new aero package’s impact and brake advancements could change race dynamics and influence how riders approach tracks, making upcoming races even more exciting.
