Liverpool is targeting a “world class” £67 million Nunes upgrade

Liverpool took the gamble when they signed Darwinnes in 2022. FSG has a way of doing things financially.

However, Nunes was impressed in the 2021/22 Champions League, facing Bayern Munich and, importantly, Liverpool, where Jurgen Klopp pushed a departure from the typical approach and convinced him to sign a raw, glorious outlook for the Lofty £64 million.

According to a soccer insider, Victor Osimhen is still on Liverpool’s radar as FSG prepares to win cash at Nunes. After completing a successful loan spell with Galatasaray, Osimhen leaves Napoli this summer.

The Nigerian striker was rated at £67 million, captivating the interest of Manchester United, but Liverpool is a European football and title-winning team, hoping that more stable conditions will sway in the race.

Al-Hilal had pushed Osimhen to sign, but the deal was made after learning that players would prefer to stay in Europe. The door is very open for the Anfield side.

With Liverpool agreeing to a £116 million deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wiltz, they can turn their attention to the front of the ship, and Osimen could be the perfect man to upgrade the great Nunes at an affordable price in his job.

Osimhen, dubbed “World-Class” by Sky Sports’ Dougie Critchley, is currently one of Europe’s most prolific shooters in several seasons, and despite his unfortunate divorce from Napoli, he fired up with Galata Salei, posting 37 goals and eight assists in 41 games.

His consistency has his elite class abilities and with nine goals and assists from just 17 outings in the Champions League, the 26-year-old has the perfect weapon to thrive in the slot Liverpool, a fierce blend of pace, power and potency in the final third.

Needless to say, he proves Nunes’ upgrade, the struggle has been personified by his poor on the UK’s top flights, scoring only 25 Premier League goals in three campaigns, missing a staggering 55 big chance, according to his sofa score.

To be fair, Osimhen missed 64 big opportunities across league performances in the same time frame. But the difference is that he is pushing away the 67 strike.

Ranked in the top 9% of European strikers last season, winning in aerial battles, top 6% of shot-making action, top 18% of progressive carry per 90, according to FBREF, is more than just a focus, and instead takes advantage of athletic M and intensity to dominate in the final third.

Osimhen may cost a considerable amount this summer, but the evidence of this is in the pudding with this. There are few questions about him proof of a major upgrade to Nunez.
