  • Man United is interested in Ollie Watkins
  • Reuben Amorim hopes new strikers lead the offense

After the offensive poor people returned last season, new strikers are desperately needed at Manchester United.

The Red Devils finished last season in the Premier League with a negative goal difference.

They struggled with the goal due to the inconsistent performances of both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

Amorin is aware that his team will need additional offense this summer, and he made an early move to address that issue.

The Premier League giants have already secured a signature from Mateus Cunya’s wolves, while Brentford’s Brian Mbeumo’s move is approaching.

Man United is interested in Ollie Watkins

Their transfer business is not going to stop there with Man United, who is looking for the right number nine to lead the offense next season.

Cunha is the perfect playmaker for the position behind the striker, and Mbeumo is a wide range of attackers, but they need a player who can lead the offense next season.

According to Fitches, Man United is piqued with Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins.

Watkins is a model of Aston Villa’s consistency, scoring 17 goals during the 2024/25 campaign and providing 14 assists in all competitions.

He is already used to the demands of the Premier League and is expected to quickly integrate with United’s improved team.

Watkins has top-level experience and has played for a long time at the villa, while representing England at the Euro 2024, impressing on his international mission.

The Red Devils were previously interested in Liam Dellup’s move, but the British striker joined Chelsea from Ipswichtown.

Watkins embodies the quality United lacked. He is a striker with Playmeer League credentials, clinical finishing, smart positional awareness and an unparalleled work ethic.

His calm in high pressure situations, combined with his tricks to link plays and deliver them in the final third, will be a well-balanced forward that can change United’s offense.

Watkins described himself as a “fighter” in an interview, talking about his hard work in his career and how he rose from the lower leagues.
