Manchester City are set to let Oscar Bobb leave in January for around £20m, with Newcastle reportedly among the favorites to sign him.

The talented young Norwegian international has struggled to establish himself as an automatic starter in Josep Guardiola’s side and looks increasingly likely to leave the club this month.

Bob is believed to be on offer to clubs including Newcastle, Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla for a fee worth £20m, with the Magpies one of his strongest suitors.

Nothing has been decided yet, but Newcastle are on the market for new attacking players and Bob appears to be a real and concrete target for Eddie Howe’s side.

City are known to be close to signing Antoine Semenyo as a major new signing, and the arrival of the Bournemouth forward is likely to make it even more difficult for Bob to play regularly.

This appears to mean the 22-year-old will leave the club, with offers from a number of clubs in the Premier League and Europe.

It remains to be seen whether Newcastle will definitely win the race to sign him, but reports from the Chronicle and elsewhere seem positive so far.

It’s fair to say Anthony Gordon hasn’t had his best season, while summer signing Anthony Elanga is also struggling to settle in.

Harvey Barnes has had some good moments, but overall Newcastle’s attack seems to have hit a bit of a rut this time around and needs some new blood like Bob.

Even if MCFC haven’t made much use of the young wideman, he has shown glimpses of real potential during his time in Manchester and certainly has the talent to make an impact at many other clubs in the Premier League.
