Celtic and Brendan Rogers reportedly made important decisions about the future of the four-time Scottish Premiership champions.
Rogers is associated with foreign movements away from Celtic
Following a disappointing summer, it wasn’t the happiest start of the hoop season.
Everything seems to go wrong with Rodgers, who was frustrated during the summer transfer period, and journalist Alan Nixon believes that despite his connection to Nottingham Forest work, the move to foreign clubs will appeal to the next Northern Irelander.
It remains to be seen how long Rogers’ Celtic will last, but it is a tumultuous time in the club’s history, summarised in a statement they released a few days ago, which Michael Stewart called it a PR disaster.
“Tell me about not being able to read the room. Of course they were under pressure and felt like they had to talk, but it would be better to be quieter than it comes out.
Celts make big decisions about “physical beasts”
According to Soccer InsiderCeltic and Rogers decided that the Daizen Maeda was not on sale when the January transfer window opened, despite seeking an exit blocked by the Parkhead chief.
Hoop has been allegedly “blocked” a ‘potential transfer’ from Parkhead due to lack of depth in the area ahead between now and the end of the season.
Maeda has been signed with the club until the summer of 2027, so if you want to eventually receive a fee for him, you’ll run out of time, but it makes sense to protect him for the time being.
The Celts cannot afford to be in a position where they do not have enough firepower for their ranks, following this unforgettable summer signature summer. The £25 million Japanese has been praised by the coach as a “physical beast” and is a player welcomed by Rogers in the past.
“He’s absolutely fantastic everywhere, but he plays, but he’s had a great season, he earns all the pennies and we feel he’s a more appropriate club.
Maeda is looking for the first league goal of the season after four appearances, which is different from him, but Scotland’s four-time Premiership champion is a player who can’t find any form sooner than later.
However, to avoid losing him on a free transfer in 2027, it could be his final season with the 27-year-old Celtic shirt, and Rodgers hopes he can see his best again before the next May arrives.
