Journalist claims Newcastle have another player they could sell for more than £100m

Newcastle United sold Alexander Isak to Liverpool for £125m in cash in the summer, and it has been suggested they could make another big sale.

The Magpies have other talented players in their squad, with journalist Mark Carruthers naming Sandro Tonali as a player who could sell for more than £100m in the future.

There has previously been talk of big clubs such as Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain paying such a price to sign Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimarães.

Still, Tonali has recently been linked with a return to Italy with Juventus and could be a player of interest to Europe’s elite.

“He’s the best midfielder I’ve watched at Newcastle in 38 years,” Carruthers said recently of Tonali.

This prompted another Football Fan Cast journalist, Angus Sinclair, to say: “Sorry Bruno, but this may actually be true. If Guimarães is a £100m player, what does that mean for the Italian giants?”

Tonali arrived with great fanfare when he joined Newcastle from AC Milan, establishing himself as a true wonder during his time in Serie A.

The Italian international continues to develop at NUFC and one imagines he may become difficult to catch in the near future.

Newcastle fans wouldn’t want another big sale like Isak at all, but it just goes to show what a good job the club has done in building their squad.

Tonali will almost certainly make a huge profit for Newcastle, which is quite the silver lining when it comes to losing star players.
