The United States men’s national soccer team is set to face Belgium, Portugal, and Germany in their final friendly matches ahead of the World Cup. The U.S. Soccer Federation announced that the 14th-ranked U.S. team will compete against No. 8 Belgium on March 28 and No. 6 Portugal three days later, both taking place in Atlanta.

This matchup will mark Cristiano Ronaldo’s potential return to the U.S. since his last appearance in a preseason friendly with Real Madrid against Manchester United on August 2, 2014, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After the selection of Pochettino’s World Cup squad, the U.S. will take on a yet-to-be-announced opponent on May 31 in Charlotte, followed by a game against No. 9 Germany in Chicago on June 6.

The U.S. kicks off the World Cup in Inglewood, California, on June 12, continues with a match in Seattle a week later, and wraps up the group stage back in Inglewood on June 25. The specific opponents will be determined by a lottery taking place on Friday, which will also influence the U.S. team’s friendly match in Charlotte.

The United States remains unbeaten in their last five friendlies, recording four victories.

Fan Take: These upcoming matches are crucial for the U.S. team as they prepare for the World Cup, offering a chance to measure themselves against top-tier teams. For fans, this is an exciting opportunity to witness star players like Ronaldo and to rally around the national team as they head into a highly anticipated tournament.
