The Philadelphia Flyers are giving a promising young player an opportunity to join their NHL lineup. The team has announced the recall of forward Denver Berkey from their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Meanwhile, defenseman Egor Zamula has been sent down to the Phantoms after passing through waivers. Berkey, considered one of the Flyers’ top prospects, is making his NHL debut and aims to make a significant impact on the ice.

This season, Berkey has played 26 games with the Phantoms, tallying seven goals and nine assists, totaling 16 points. Last year, he appeared in 50 games for the London Knights in the OHL, where he scored 25 goals and notched 82 points, plus nine goals and 20 points during 10 playoff games.

On the other hand, Zamula hasn’t seen AHL action since the 2022-23 season. He has participated in 13 NHL games this year, contributing one assist and holding a plus-4 rating.

Fan Take: This move highlights the Flyers’ commitment to nurturing young talent, which is exciting for fans eager to see fresh energy on the team. Berkey’s promotion could signal a promising shift in the Flyers’ future, adding new dynamics to the game and potentially shaking up the NHL landscape.
