Liverpool manager Arne Slott was clearly not happy with his side struggling against nine men despite a 2-1 away win at Tottenham.

Coach Slott said in the post-match press conference that he was thankful that they didn’t score, but that he expected the game to end more easily.

Xavi Simmons was sent off in the first half, after which Liverpool won 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Richarlison pulled one back moments before, and then Cristian Romero was also shown a red card, but Slott felt that despite LFC having a two-man advantage, they were still attacking Spurs one after the other.

The Dutch tactician was clearly not happy with his players’ performance, with Slott even going so far as to say it felt more like a nine-man team than Tottenham.

“Honestly, I thought against nine guys we would be able to keep them away from the goal,” Slott said.

“But we kept getting attacked one after another, so it looked like we were losing by nine points.”

One of the bad news for Liverpool against Spurs was the injury to Alexander Isak.

The Sweden international has endured a nightmare since moving to Anfield in the summer, struggling to stay fit and making little impact on the pitch.

Slott has talked about Isak’s injury, which doesn’t seem very promising at this point, but there are no concrete medical updates yet.
