The Nashville Predators defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 on Wednesday, highlighted by Steven Stamkos scoring his 600th career goal. The Predators, currently on a seven-game road trip, recorded their 12th win in 17 games and improved to above .500 for the first time since mid-October with an 18-17-4 record.

Vegas, meanwhile, is struggling, having lost six of their last seven games, finishing their recent four-game home stretch with a 1-2-1 record. Stamkos, now in his 18th season, notched his 18th goal this season and the ninth against the Golden Knights since 2017. His game-tying goal sparked a critical five-minute run where Nashville scored three unanswered goals to overturn a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 lead.

Other Predators scorers included Nick Perbix, Reed Schaefer, and Michael Bunting, with goaltender Justus Anunen making 29 saves. Former Knight Eric Haula is nearing his 800th game, and Bunting’s goal marked his 200th career assist. For Vegas, Mark Stone scored his 10th goal, and Ben Hutton added his sixth. Goalie Akira Schmidt was ejected late in the third period after stopping 15 shots.

Vegas players Mitch Marner, Shea Theodore, and Mark Stone were all selected to represent Canada in the upcoming 2025 Four-Nation Tournament.

Looking ahead, Nashville will play in Seattle on Thursday, while Vegas travels to St. Louis on Friday.

Fan Take: This game is a reminder of the rising talent and resilience in the Predators’ lineup, signaling their potential to be serious contenders. For hockey fans, Stamkos hitting the 600-goal milestone adds a historic moment while the struggles of Vegas highlight the unpredictability and drama that make the sport thrilling.
