Leeds United have been given one last chance to sign the £64m attacker, who is keen to complete a move from his current club, according to reports.
£64m attacker keen to move to Leeds
It hasn’t been a busy January transfer window at Elland Road. Daniel Farke’s side have welcomed just one signing in the form of Facundo Buonanotte and enjoy the privilege of being outside the relegation zone and not in a desperate position to welcome multiple additions.
However, the loss to Arsenal could close the gap on bottom three West Ham United to just three points, and was a timely reminder that the Whites could regret a quiet January if they fail to act on deadline day.
Leeds in full PL race to sign ‘brilliant’ Real Madrid star who has just scored a hat-trick
It would be the best move for them under the 49ers umbrella.
To that end, there are certainly plenty of rumors about the 49ers’ potential moves. For example, names such as Jørgen Strand Larsen have been mentioned in what will at this stage be the sensational hijacking of the Crystal Palace.
The Eagles have reportedly agreed a deal with the Wolverhampton Wanderers forward, but the move could depend on Jean-Philippe Mateta’s move to AC Milan not yet being completed.
There is no way the striker could go wrong at Elland Road. As impressive as Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been, his injury history suggests that Leeds are likely to need a full back-up at some stage this season, and Strand Larsen would be a perfect candidate for that role, among others.
But he’s not the only option. The report also names a big-money striker who is keen to leave his current club before the deadline.
According to Team Talk, Leeds have been given one last chance to sign John Duran due to a desperate approach from an agent looking to move his client into a better direction midway through the current campaign.
Leeds should make the most of Duran’s offer
This is not the first time Los Blancos have received an offer for Duran this month. They were approached about a potential move with a number of Premier League clubs early on and have now received offers again alongside Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest.
This time it’s something Leeds should embrace. The former Aston Villa forward, who completed a £64m move to Al Nasr in January last year, is now hoping to return to English football after a disastrous period not helped by a disappointing loan move to Fenerbahce.
The 22-year-old is still a striker with a lot of potential and is available on loan, eliminating the risk of the 49ers spending a lot of money. It’s a win-win situation.
Duran certainly impressed for Aston Villa when they last won the Premier League and Leeds could be the next club to benefit as he looks to get back into form.
