Anthony Gordon has been linked with a move from Newcastle United at the end of the season, with Arsenal keen to sign him.

According to soccer transfer information, Arsenal are planning to submit an offer for the England international this summer. Newcastle do not want to sell the player, but manager Mikel Arteta is keen to secure his signature.

Arsenal keen to sign Anthony Gordon

Arsenal want to build a team around English players and Gordon could be a great addition. They need more creativity on the wing and Gordon will add goals to the team. He also has enough versatility to work in the middle, which could make him a very useful option in attack.

The opportunity to join Arsenal would be a hugely exciting one for the Newcastle star. He could compete for the league title with Arsenal and feature regularly in the Champions League.

Newcastle are looking to build a formidable squad for the future and selling one of their best attacking players would be a huge blow. They are already struggling in the final third and are overly reliant on Gordon.

Where will Gordon end up?

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old has also been linked with a move to Liverpool. It remains to be seen where he will end up. The player is at the peak of his career and now could be the right time to take the next step and join a bigger team that can fight for trophies.

The deal will not be easy and Arsenal may have to pay well over the odds to persuade Newcastle.

Gordon has scored 17 goals and provided five assists in all competitions this season, including 10 goals and 12 Champions League games.
