Journalist David Ornstein has dealt a decisive blow to Arsenal’s summer transfer hopes, revealing there is “zero chance” of the Gunners signing PSG star Kviča Kvaratschelia.
Ornstein addressed the growing speculation linking Mikel Arteta’s side with the 25-year-old winger during a fan Q&A on The Athletic’s website (subscription required) on Thursday.

Hviča Kvaratschelia unlikely to transfer to Arsenal
Despite Arsenal’s desire to strengthen their attacking options after a season in which they reached the Champions League semi-finals and challenged for the Premier League title, a move for the Georgian international appears to be completely off the table.
“Everyone loves Hviča Kvaratscheria, but I fully expect him to remain at PSG,” Ornstein wrote, quashing rumors that had excited the North London faithful.
“He seems very happy there and they are certainly very happy with him. I don’t think there’s a chance for Arsenal or anyone else at the moment.”
The update comes as a disappointment to those who saw Kuvaratschelia as the final piece of Arteta’s attacking puzzle.
Since joining PSG from Napoli in January 2025 for 80 million euros, Kvaratsjeria has become an integral part of Luis Enrique’s side.
His direct style and technical talent were on full display in the recent Champions League quarter-final win over Liverpool, where he scored in the first leg and helped the Reds collapse.
There is a lot of interest in Kvaratschelia from the Premier League.
Arsenal are not the only Premier League club to register an interest. Liverpool are long-time fans and the Reds were reportedly considering a hijacking plan just before the move to Paris.
Their interest in the versatile attacker remains, with Ben Jacobs recently reporting that the Reds have a genuine appreciation for the 25-year-old.
Chelsea are also keen, with recent reports suggesting the Blues are preparing a big bid for the Georgia wizard.
With Kvaratschelia’s contract running until 2029 and his importance to the Paris project at an all-time high, Ornstein’s assessment suggests potential suitors would need to come forward with an exorbitant offer to even begin negotiations.
For now, it looks like the Georgian will remain the jewel in PSG’s crown as they chase European glory.
