Liverpool are reported to be in the race to sign highly-rated Hertha BSC teenager Kennett Eichhorn, with Sky Sports Germany correspondent Florian Plettenberg revealing that the Reds are already in concrete talks over a potential move.

The 16-year-old is considered one of the most promising young players in German football and is expected to be one of the hottest teenage talents in this summer’s transfer window.

Liverpool’s interest represents a significant development as the club continues its aggressive push to strengthen its long-term talent pipeline.

Plettenberg reported in X on Tuesday that Liverpool are in the race for Eichhorn in a “very concrete” manner, with talks already taking place between interested parties.

According to the respected journalist, sources in England have confirmed that fruitful talks have taken place with Liverpool in contention for the teenager’s signature.

Plettenberg also stated that Eichhorn plans to leave Hertha BSC when the transfer window opens, adding that a move to the majors this summer is increasingly likely.

With a reported release clause of between €10 million and €12 million, the youngster could become an affordable target for some of Europe’s elite clubs.

For a player regarded as one of Germany’s outstanding teenage prospects, his valuation could be attractive to clubs looking to secure elite talent before prices rise significantly.

Despite being only 16 years old, the German youngster is already attracting attention for his technical ability, tactical intelligence and long-term potential.

Scouts across Europe are believed to be closely monitoring his development, with Liverpool now emerging as leading candidates in the race to sign him.

Manchester City are among the top clubs interested in signing the German, with Arsenal and Man United also interested.

Bayern Munich are also said to be keeping an eye on the boy.

The relatively modest release clause represents a low-risk, upside opportunity for a prestigious club like Liverpool.

Liverpool continues strategy to sign elite young players

The club is already close to completing a move for teenager Samuel Martinez, while the interest in Eichhorn supports a clear long-term transfer strategy.

If Liverpool manage to beat out rival clubs for Eichhorn’s signature, they could secure one of the continent’s most promising young players before his stock rises further.
