Manchester United are interested in signing Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde in the summer transfer window.
They will feel competition from Liverpool, but it remains to be seen whether they can get a deal done.

Barcelona could sell Alejandro Balde
TEAMtalk reports that Barcelona are looking to raise funds and would welcome a big offer for the 22-year-old full-back. An offer of around £43m would be enough to seal a deal. Manchester United need more depth in their full-back department and the Spanish full-back could be the ideal player for them.
He is a young player with a lot of potential and has the technical characteristics to challenge in the Premier League. However, Balde still wants to stay at Barcelona and fight for his place there. It remains to be seen whether the Spanish champions are prepared to use him.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also keeping an eye on his movements. With Andrew Robertson set to leave the club at the end of the season, they may need to add more depth in that area of the pitch. The 22-year-old could be the ideal player for them.

Balde could come at a premium.
An offer of £43m may seem expensive for the player, especially given that Manchester United and Liverpool will need to improve multiple areas of their squads in the summer. Whether they are prepared to pay him that much remains to be seen.
There is no doubt that the 22-year-old has the qualities to develop in English football and could be a solid long-term signing for both clubs. He has become a reliable defender and has shown that he can continue to help the team.
Balde has also been linked with a move to Manchester City.
