The PGA Tour returned to South Florida for the inaugural Cadillac Championship, the newest signature event on the league’s schedule. This will be the first time the WGC-Cadillac Championship has returned to the Blue Monster course since it ended in 2016, and will aim to conquer the 7,739-yard course, one of the longest courses visited by many of the world’s top athletes throughout the season.
There are three distinct events between the Masters and the PGA Championship, and the condensed schedule has resulted in notable absences, with Rory McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick, Xander Schauffele and Ludwig Oberg all absent. These big names absent from the event will provide the 72 remaining players with the opportunity to cash in on the tour’s latest purse of $20 million.
Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, Tommy Fleetwood, Collin Morikawa, Russell Henry, Justin Rose, Viktor Hovland, Justin Thomas and others started this week looking to grab a big win to build momentum heading into their second major of the season, and win some big money in the process. Young heads into the final round with a six-stroke lead, and Scheffler is the closest big name, sitting in T2 alongside Min Woo Lee.
Sunday’s winner will take home $3.6 million, and everyone in the top 10 will cash a check for at least $545,000. All of the top 36 finishers at the Cadillac Championship will earn at least six-figure positions, and the players will earn a hefty paycheck for their four days of work.
Below is the complete purse breakdown and pay structure for each position on this week’s Cadillac Championship leaderboard.
