  • Andoni Iraola becomes Crystal Palace’s top manager target
        • Crystal Palace begin negotiations to sign major upgrade for Liam Rosenior

AFC Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is currently Crystal Palace’s frontrunner to replace Oliver Glasner, who is set to retire in the summer.

Glasner remains fully focused on winning another trophy against Palace and is in a strong position to do just that after leading his side to a 3-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Europa Conference League semi-final first leg.

When asked if it was difficult for him to leave the Eagles, he said: “I think it’s the wrong time to talk about my future. It’s not important. I’m 100% focused on it right now. Hopefully until May 27th when we have a big party, then I’ll be able to party too.”

With the Austrian set to leave, Steve Parish and his colleagues have begun considering potential replacements, with options plentiful including former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior, Coventry City’s Frank Lampard and Manchester United’s Ruben Amorim.

Iraola has also emerged as an option as the AFC Bournemouth manager is set to leave the Vitality Stadium in the summer, with another update on Crystal Palace’s signing.

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Football Insider reports that Palace have identified Iraola as their number one target to replace Glasner, and that approaches have already been made.

“Crystal Palace have long admired Iraola and see him as a top target who could fill the hole when Oliver Glasner leaves.

“They contacted his agent to see if he was willing to make such a move.

“But now, following the departure of Liam Rosenior, Chelsea are also interested in the Spaniard and have been in contact with his agent.

“He will probably have a lot of options and offers in the summer. There will be interest in him not only from the Premier League but also from some of the top leagues in Europe.”

As well as being full of praise for the 43-year-old, O’Rourke also received praise from analyst Matthew Avery, who said Bournemouth played “unreal football” last season.

Since then, the Cherries have continued their impressive run in the 2025-26 season, knocking on the door of European qualification with three games remaining.

Delivering European football next season could be important for Palace as O’Rourke revealed that Iraola, who prefers a 4-2-3-1 formation, will be in high demand, with their comfortable win over Shakhtar Donetsk putting them with one foot in the Europa Conference League finals.
