The Friedkin Group are preparing to spend big at Everton for a second summer in a row, with Stuttgart’s Jamie Leveling one of several names already attracting attention.

Everton eyeing Bundesliga attacker

Everton have much more to build on this summer, although it may not seem like it now that their European hopes are gone. Manager David Moyes led them from relegation fears to top-half ambitions, but Friedkin’s reinforcement plans would suggest that the only way out from here is up.

Players like John Stones and Jack Grealish have emerged as early targets with the possibility of making his loan move permanent. The former would be a particularly impressive signing and could see him return to the club for the first time since leaving ten years ago.

However, Manchester is not the only city where the Toffees are looking to complete their shopping spree. According to Sky Germany, Everton are seriously planning to sign the leveler from Stuttgart this summer. The attacking star has attracted a lot of interest and is valued at more than €50m (about £43m) at the German club.

This opens up the possibility of a record deal on Merseyside and would be a great statement from those at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

With him involved in 23 goals in all competitions this season, it’s easy to see why Everton have a concrete interest in Lewelling. The winger could be the perfect replacement for Grealish if the Toffees decide not to make this summer loan move permanent. Add in the fact that he can play six different positions and he becomes an even better option.

More than £43m Lewelling could replace Grealish

Grealish has already won the hearts of everyone involved at Everton, but Lewelling is likely to be an upgrade on Man City’s loanee. The German has been involved in more goals this season, reaching the peak of his powers as a 25-year-old attacker. He would be worth every penny of a record deal.

The Stuttgart star has outperformed Grealish in several key areas this season. Outside of his involvement in goals, he has proven to be a creative outlet for the team, with almost 50% of his attempts ending in success.

Fabian Wolgemuth’s praise suggests the German is one of the club’s most reliable players, with the Stuttgart manager saying: “Jamie played in every Bundesliga game (last season) and that statistic alone shows how important he is to the team.

“His dedication and willingness to work for the team make him an extremely valuable player for us. We also believe he has great potential for further development, which is why we have decided to tie Jamie to VfB on a long-term contract.”
