Arsenal enter this transfer window with high expectations.

Winning their first Premier League title in 22 years may finally take some of the pressure off, but that victory also gives them a fantastic opportunity to attract some of Europe’s best talent.

The Gunners are likely to start further up the pitch, where Bournemouth’s young superstar Eli Junior Crupi is a key target for Mikel Arteta and others. However, with a price tag of between £80m and £100m, the Cherries clearly have no intention of selling.

Julián Álvarez could also be on the menu, but similarly his current price at Atletico Madrid is nothing short of astronomical.

There is a feeling that the former Manchester City attacker could be the most game-changing addition of the summer, but it must not be forgotten that Morgan Rodgers is also a key target.

Latest updates on Arsenal’s signing of Morgan Rodgers

Since taking over as Arsenal manager, one of Arteta’s basic strategies in the transfer market has been to sign players from Premier League clubs.

Players like David Raya and Declan Rice have undergone transformations since joining from Brentford and West Ham United respectively.

With Rodgers, the Gunners will be hoping to repeat that success. Manager Fabrizio Romano revealed earlier this week that Arsenal had held talks with the player’s camp.

Negotiations between the clubs have yet to begin, but it is widely believed he could cost more than £80m to sign from Villa Park this summer.

What will Rodgers bring? Well, the key Premier League know-how ticks a lot of boxes for Arteta’s team, and so does his availability.

The 23-year-old has missed just two league games since the start of the 2024/25 season, one of which was due to suspension for accumulating too many yellow cards.

But the important thing is that he is a very good young player. Whether playing on the left-wing or breaking through the middle as a number 10, Rodgers is exceptional.

He has scored 14 goals in back-to-back seasons with the Villains and has assisted the Villains as well. He provided 16 assists in 2024/25 and a further 12 in 2025/26.

A skilled operator who is incredibly direct and aggressive in the final third, this would be a fantastic signing for the Gunners.

But what if Arsenal had already signed their own version?

Arsenal have already signed Morgan Rodgers

Much of the chatter in recent days has revolved around Leicester City’s Jeremy Monga.

The Gunners are reportedly close to signing the 27-year-old. Arsenal’s young signings continue to be strong and they have done an incredible job of bringing in some of the best talent in the world.

Alongside Monga, they have already signed another teenage duo, including Andrea Berta. They go by the names Edwin Quintero and Holger Quintero.

Both are just 16 years old and currently play for Independiente del Valle in Ecuador, with both players agreeing to join Arsenal in the second half of 2025 before signing.

If you’re not familiar with the notoriety behind this great South American club, the first thing you should know is that their youth system is one of the best on the planet.

It’s a production line that has already produced PSG’s William Pacho, Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo and Kendry Paes, and Arsenal’s Piero Hincapie.

They also have several other players heading to Europe, with central defender Dainar Ordonez already agreeing a move to Chelsea. Arsenal could also raid them and poach two of the best young players in the world in the form of the Quintero twins.

Edwin is probably the most exciting. Scout Jacek Kulig named him one of the best teenagers on the planet in early 2025. That list also included Max Dauman. That’s how special he is.

His older brother, a right winger by trade, is more of an attacking midfielder, much like Rodgers.

Like Rodgers, Holger Quintero is described as a technically gifted right-footed attacking midfielder who boasts a very impressive set of attributes.

Como scout Ben Mattinson outlined how he is a “definitive creator with a killer final ball”, while the aforementioned Kulig hailed him as “a great technical prospect with great close control and flair”.

What also sets Holger apart from other players is his incredible level of agility, making him extremely difficult to stop in one-on-one situations.

Clips of the player online show how great he is at moving forward with the ball in central areas. Coincidentally, that is one of Rodgers’ best traits and a big reason why Arsenal want to sign him. He will bring an immense threat to the center in a direct and attacking way that Martin Odegaard does not have.

Rodgers may be fully committed to the very present, but with Holger Quintero, they may have already established their version. His potential is huge and as this is a pre-agreed contract, it has not gone unnoticed among supporters.

However, we will have to wait to see what he does. The twins have visited Emirates’ training base in London Colney, but cannot officially join the club until they are 18. As a result, he will become an Arsenal player in the summer of 2027.
