Everton and Leeds United are currently in the race to sign the clinical striker, with offers already in place ahead of the summer transfer window.
Everton could already replace Tierno Barry
Last season, David Moyes’ side lacked just one piece and that was a clinical striker.
Despite bringing in Tierno Barry in a deal worth around £27m, the Toffees found themselves reliant on Beto again towards the end of the season. After all, even if the forward scored nine goals in the Premier League, it was not enough to stabilize European football.
Since then, the Merseyside side have been on the hunt for a clinical goalscorer to help bridge the gap to the top eight. Gabriel Jesus and others are thought to be emerging as targets for bargain deals.
Meanwhile, another impressive company could become a top target in the coming months if Friedkin Group is prepared to spend big. But Leeds may have a say in that before the summer business is over.

Everton and Leeds compete for clinical striker
The two Premier League teams are set to clash off the pitch and in the transfer market this summer, with a potentially big move for Feyenoord’s Ayase Ueda.
However, according to SportsBoom, it is Everton who are preparing a contract offer for Ueda, with the aim of overtaking Leeds and signing the 27-year-old before Los Blancos make a move.
However, this deal won’t come cheap. Feyenoord are reportedly set to open negotiations for around €35m (about £30m), meaning Leeds would have to achieve one of the richest contracts in history if they want to sign the forward.
It is also unlikely that Everton’s initial offer would reach such heights. The Toffees are reportedly set to begin negotiations at just £20m to £10m off Ueda’s price tag.

If the Toffees want to secure an absolute goalscorer, they would be wise to add an extra £10m to their offer for Ueda.
The Japanese national team scored 25 goals last season from just 18.9 XG. He couldn’t be more clinical.
