Tottenham officials say seven new signings are expected this summer.

Replying to a curious supporter on X about Tottenham’s remaining transfer plans after signing Van Hecke, O’Keefe revealed the club are planning to make seven signings, and outlined the next positions they would consider strengthening.

He said, “In an ideal world, LW, RW, CM, CF. I heard they want to sign seven people.”

O’Keefe said Spurs are actively looking to sign new left wingers, right wingers, central midfielders and center forwards.

Brighton’s £52m deal for Van Hekke has already been secured, taking the total number of high-profile players targeted by the end of the summer trade window to a whopping seven new players.

The incredible speed and scale of Tottenham’s summer campaign shows that the board has full support for manager Roberto De Zerbi.

De Zerbi took over at the end of last season, joining to save Spurs from historic relegation.

The Italian made an immediate impact and was able to inspire a crumbling side, helping them survive the relegation zone on the final day of the season.

De Zerbi has made it clear that he wants Spurs to compete against big clubs and reach the top of the table, and has embarked on a rebuild of the squad this summer.

Rather than waiting for a bargain on deadline day, the recruiting team acted proactively to acquire De Zerbi’s primary target early.

They have already agreed deals with former Liverpool star Andy Robertson and Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi, both of whom will join Spurs on free transfers.

Jan Paul van Hecke becomes the third signing of the summer, with Manchester City’s Sabinho and Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali also likely to leave.
