Fabrizio Romano has revealed that one of Tottenham Hotspur’s top summer transfer targets will agree personal terms in north London if he can agree a transfer fee with his club.
Spurs are the Premier League’s busiest team in the early stages of the transfer window and ENIC are working hard to rebuild relations with Roberto De Zerbi’s side and the club’s support.
In an open letter last month, the Lewis family vowed to rebuild trust with fans this summer and insisted they would support the manager this summer.
“This will require investment in our team, our academy and our backroom capabilities, but we are fully committed to this.
“We are not selling the club. We are fully committed. We are investing in the club. We will find out more in the coming months.”
“We care deeply about Spurs. The rebuilding that the club needs and you deserve has begun. The changes needed are deep. It will take time and commitment, but the changes are happening.”
“We know that actions speak louder than words.”
And they certainly got off to a good start, acting quickly to transform a defensive line that conceded the most goals of any team last season to stay in the top flight.
Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi were the first to arrive on free transfers, followed by Dutch star Jan Paul van Hecke, who arrived last week in a £52m deal.

De Zerbi has praised the defender’s leadership during his time at Brighton and when signing the 26-year-old, while also personally telling Spurs not to sell Micky van de Ven, so it looks like Spurs will be relying on the Dutchman’s backbone for years to come.
Fabrizio Romano: “De Zerbi wants Liverpool target to lead Tottenham project”
Liverpool and Tottenham look set to vie over the future of the hugely popular defender.
Next on the agenda is strengthening midfield, with the likes of Sandro Tonali and Matheus Fernandes rumored to be potential big-money investments, and Romano shared an update on Spurs’ efforts to strengthen the center of the park.
Romano: £85m star agrees personal contract with Tottenham
The reporter shared the latest updates on West Ham star Fernandes in his latest YouTube video, and confirmed that all three interested parties – Tottenham, Real Madrid and Manchester United – had spoken to the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes.
And while United are currently the only club in talks, Romano has revealed some good news to Spurs supporters, saying Fernandes is willing to agree a personal deal with the first club that meets the Hammers’ criteria.
“It’s like, who’s going to bring the best offer to West Ham? They’re starting at £85m to get maybe more money, because I believe more clubs are joining the race every day.
“The club that arrives with the best offer to West Ham will also be able to sign the player.”
The 21-year-old scored three goals and provided four assists in the Premier League last season, but it was his exploits without the ball that were even more impressive.
In fact, the Portuguese youngster averages 2.9 tackles per game, the most in West Ham’s squad and second only to Tottenham’s compatriot Joao Parinha.
