Romano posted: “Marco Palestra will undergo a medical in London on Friday as a new Chelsea player. Palestra will head to England to sign a contract until June 2032, plus an option until 2033, in order to secure his move from Atalanta.”
Romano previously reported that the Palestra’s transfer fee was 55 million euros, but he joins on a six-year contract with an option for a further year on top of that…
What does Marco Palestra’s transfer mean for Chelsea?
Palestra looks like a good prospect with a bright future, but Chelsea will have concerns about signing such a player again.
The 21-year-old has every chance of developing into a world-class full-back, but for now he’s just another prospect who lacks the experience this beleaguered CFC side desperately needs.
Many Chelsea supporters seem to be running out of patience with this project and would be reluctant to accept a deal like this, which could lead to the departure of the experienced Maro Gusto.
The paper suggests that Manchester City are interested in Chelsea’s French right-back and that the Palestra’s arrival could be linked to a sale for Gusto.
After a nightmarish season without a silver medal in the Premier League, finishing 10th, the west Londoners definitely need to change tack and bring in more players who can provide them with a silver medal soon.
