Chelsea’s impending new signing Marco Palestra has broken his silence about a move to Stamford Bridge.
The talented young Italian defender is scheduled for a Blues medical in London tomorrow, with Fabrizio Romano posting an update on his situation.
Romano posted on X about the Palestra undergoing a medical at Chelsea on Friday, and added another post quoting the player himself saying he was happy to make the move.

“I’m happy to join Chelsea. I’m very happy with this new chapter,” the 21-year-old said, as quoted by Romano.
Chelsea fans will be pleased to see an exciting young talent like Palestra feeling positive about this move, as Stamford Bridge hasn’t been the happiest place of late.
Chelsea invest in young players again
Still, many CFC fans will question the logic of a deal like the Palestra’s this summer, when they will no doubt start trying to sign more experienced players.
Chelsea’s current owners are focused on recruiting the best young talent in the world and building for the future, but they haven’t had much success so far, with fans protesting against them towards the end of last season.
Even if the Palestra has a bright future ahead of him, Chelsea need to make sure they add players who can make a big impact right away.

If bringing in a player like Palestra means making way for a proven and experienced player like Maro Gusto, as BBC Sport suggests, it’s hard to see anything but bad business overall.
